We’re Getting Married!
Emma & Conrad
02 . 09 . 23
RSVP
Please let us know if you will be joining us by emailing emma.conrad.2023@gmail.com or click the button below. Please include any dietary requirements or any other information we may need to know on the day in your RSVP. Thank you!
Accommodation
There is plenty of accommodation in the surrounding area, however it does get booked fast, so we advise reserving somewhere soon.
We would suggest looking on AirBnB, Booking.com and Hotels.com - here is a list of a few local places to stay. Alternatively, there is plenty of space to pitch a tent or park a campervan!
Travel & Transport
The church and reception are around 10 min drive apart. We would recommend carpooling with other guests to make the journey or booking a taxi in advance, as there is no phone signal at the church! Here are the details of a few local taxi companies.
The nearest train stations are Gillingham Dorset, Castle Cary and Frome (between 20-30 mins from the wedding). If you would rather drive, there is plenty of parking at both the church and the reception.
If you are struggling with accommodation or transport plans for the day just let us know and we can help sort something.
And yes, this is Conrad & Emma back in 1997!
Dress Code
For our lovely friends traveling from overseas (and any overly-optimistic Brits), a quick reminder that this is England with all its wonderfully unpredictable weather, therefore please come prepared… layers are your friend!
Men: Morning suits or suits
Women: Summer-smart (think summer dresses/nice jump-suits). If you would like to wear a hat then please do but they are not necessary, and we will be on grass/gravel for some of the day so stilettos are not advised.
Any questions, please get in touch!
This is just an unusually good picture of us; it is not indicative of the dress code!
Sunday 3rd
For anyone wishing to prolong the festivities and spend a relaxing afternoon in Somerset, you are more than welcome to return to Manor House, Upton Noble, any time between 10am-3pm on Sunday 3rd. This will be very informal, but there will be teas and coffees, beer and some light food.
Feel free to bring swimming costumes and towels for the pools, and there will be the opportunity to use the tennis court if you would like (we have some racquets that can be borrowed).
A few reels…
As many of you will know, reeling (Scottish dancing) has become a big part of our lives - so we are planning on doing 1 or 2 reels at the wedding, along with lots of ‘normal’ dancing!
No experience whatsoever is required to join in! We will have a caller.
However, if you would feel more comfortable having some idea of what is going on, here are the dances we are planning on doing: Eightsome Reel and Reel of the 51st.
We would love everyone to take part but, if dancing is not your thing, this will be an excellent opportunity to grab another drink!
Gifts
We know times are tight, so don’t feel you need to get us a gift! However, if you would like to, please take a look at our gift list. Or, if you have something else in mind, we love surprises!
You can give any gifts to us directly or have them delivered to Manor House, Upton Noble, BA4 6BB.
While you’re here…
If you don’t have to rush back to your jobs/children/pets, here are a few ideas to fill your time while in the area:
Stourhead: National Trust stately home and world-famous gardens
Bruton: Historic town with up-market high street full of cafés and shops
Hauser & Wirth Gallery: Pioneering world-class contemporary art gallery
The Newt: Country estate with magnificent woodland & gardens, café & restaurants
Glastonbury: Quirky town, steeped in history, myth and the smell of incense
